Links between wordlist and concrdances gets capitlaisation wrong

Reported by: Adam Kilgarriff <adam@lexmasterclass.com> Assigned to: pary
Priority: high Component: Sketch Engine
Version: beta Keywords: "query box" case

Description

I clicked from "salafism" with frequency 19 in a wordlist for attribute: lemma in UKWaC-new and got a concordance with only one hit. I had only got the single occurrence of lowercase salafism, as the other 18 were uppercase Salafism. It looks like the concordance is not being correctly specified. I had another related complication when searching for 'sabatier' in the concordance query box in UKWaC-new. I only got the NN instances lemmatised as (lowercase) 'sabatier' whereas I should also have got the NP cases lemmatised as 'Sabatier'. (Query box search should be case-independent search for the search term as a word or as a lemma - case-independent for both) I think thtese problems are specific to UKWaC (and maybe to UKWaC-new). Can you please tlel me (adam) where the issue lies, as I didn't think these things were corpus-specific. Thanks.

  • status changed from new to closed.
  • resolution set to fixed.

Both things were not specific to ukWaC, they were globally wrong (wrong query in the link from word list as well as case-sensitive query box). Fixed now, links are fixed and the query box is interpreted as case-insensitive.
