continuing problems with one-click copying

Reported by: Liz Potter <amir.liz1@tiscali.co.uk> Assigned to: pary
Priority: normal Component: Sketch Engine
Version: beta Keywords: one-click copying

Description

Hi. It is impossible to report these every time they happen as they happen regularly but sporadically and unpredictably. It takes too much time to report every time. For example, yesterday morning first thing the one-click copying was copying only the tagged headword, as reported previously by several people. It then worked fine for several hours, with no further problems. This morning it is copying a totally unrelated example, rather than the one I clicked on (ie As he said himself in a letter that he wrote to a friend : instead of By the 1880s Burne-Jones was already an international figure , and he remained so until his death on 17 June 1898 at Fulham , London.) This has happened several times now: in the end I give up and just copy and paste. It's as though it gets into a loop and can't get out until you move on to something else. This is always the beta version, and with LEXMCI corpus

The "Bourne-Jones" problem is now fixed (however, the copied text is longer than you wrote since one-click copying depends on the sentence (<s>) markup of the corpus) -- there was a problem with handling quotation marks in the copied text.

The "copying only tagged headword" problem is caused by the fact that the <s> markup is missing in some parts of the LexMCI corpus. The corpus is currently being recompiled, so this problem should be also fixed soon. (you can display the <s> tags by using "View options" and so you can see where the boundaries of the copied text will be; or you can use the "Sentence view" for displaying sentences instead of contexts)

Thank you for useful description of the error, namely for the concrete example, it helps us to trace faster where the error is; reports like "one-click copying copied bad text this morning" do not help much.
