To filter a concordance:

  • Select a corpus (at the Home screen) and make a concordance.
  • Click on filter in the expert options in the left hand side panel of the screen.
  • To make sure a word appears in a concordance line, select Positive. To make sure it doesn't, select Negative.
  • if your original query matched several words then you can use Selected token to determine which token (first or last) is used when calculating distance using the Search Span (below)
  • Choose how far in front or behind your node word/s (KWIC) the constraint on context can be in the Search Span boxes.
  • Type the word/s you want to filter for in the query box. Note that you can specify more complex queries using query type from the expert options in the left hand side menu (see page specific help on the filter)
  • Click on Filter Concordance at the bottom of the screen.
