To sort "good" dictionary examples from other extracts that are not as useful as examples in a dictionary:

  • Select a corpus and make a concordance.
  • Click on View Options in the left hand side menu (NOT KWIC/Sentences).
  • Go down to find the tickbox by the text "Sort good dictionary examples". Click this box to select it.
  • You can also specify how many sentences should be sorted using GDEX (the default is 100).
  • If more than one gdex configuration is available for the selected corpus a drop down list is shown to select the configuration. The configuration selected at this place is also used for sorting sentences in TBlex.
  • When you click on "Change View Options", your concordance will have the specified number of extracts sorted at the start of the concordance (the best at the top, the worst at the end of sorted sample (by default at the 100th position). All other concordance lines will be positioned beneath these and are not ranked by the GDEX (Good Example) program. See also  http://www.kilgarriff.co.uk/Publications/2008-KilgEtAl-euralex-gdex.doc.
